i just want to purchase a wooden model sword from Queensland, but I live in Victoria, so i'm not sure if it will be allowed through. I know that I could just drive up there and get it but I was hoping there was a simpler solution. Is there?

Hi,

I stumbled upon your blog because I have been interested in doing research on the ethnic Chinese minority from Korea. I am still working on refining my research framework and proposals but I am very interested in the everyday struggles and experiences of the Chinese minority who lived in Korea post 1945 until the normalization with the PRC in 1992. I'm wondering if you would have any additional insight to offer? Your mention of Underwood's anti-Chinese sentiment is very fascinating, were you ever able to recall where you found this source?

Thank you very much!

Good news .. The power brick supports US and Australian voltages and it uses a simple two prong power cable .. So all you have to do is buy the power cable and your in business .. and even if you don't have the power cable you can power the unit by USB.
It took about 9 days to arrive in Oz from Americia.

I'm thinking about doing the exact same thing - buying an S1300i from Amazon. Can you tell me what you did about the power cable? Do you just use an adaptor to convert from US plugs to Australian ones?

It's been 6 years so this has most probably been solved, but for people who do not know, mok-gums do NOT need a license. It is a blunt weapon used (mostly) for training.

Now on to whether customs will let you bring them into Australia. Travelling wise, those are listed under the "Common Weapons" list, meaning they are allowed into the country. Then you have to worry about individual state laws, which you will (I'm sorry to say) find out on your own, as they constantly change.

Remember, the blunt wooden swords are sub-categorized as Martial Arts weapons.

I have to say that after many weeks of looking, I found a school with good linage and a great instructor. I found many of the academy's churn people and don't focus on training students properly. I guess after any years of being in business the focus turns to asking money. Eventually found this s hook in Oakleigh called Wing Chun Universe. The instructor Sifu Jason really takes the time to teach you the correct techniques of Wing Chun and you can see he really loves what he does.

I found the website useful http://oakleigh.wingchununiverse.com.au
