I have just purchased the superseded model of the 15″ Macbook Pro. I am very happy with the purchase as I got around $700 of the price of the new unibody Macbook Pros.
In effect it was only $400 more then the top of the line Macbook.
But that is still a lot of money compared to a cheap PC laptop.

But is has a 512MB video card, enough to play Battlefield 2 on a Windows XP bootcamp partition.

And as you can see from the photo above when plugged into a 22″ monitor with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse it is an excellent due screen desktop replacement.

The panniers and backpack weigh around 10 kgs, the bike about 14.5kg, so in total about 25kg !
